SAMUEL MACRI 1908 - 2001 Peacefully, on Friday, February 9, 2001, Samuel passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. He is survived by his sons, Tom (Norma) and Ron; daughter Jean Chunick; ten grand-children; 20 great-grandchildren; and 12 great great-grand-children. He also leaves to mourn his passing a brother Frank, a sister Nella MacLachlan, and many nieces and nephews. Samuel was predeceased by his parents; his wife Mary (1994) daughter-in-law Jean Macri (1995) son-in-law Bill Chunick (1998) brothers, Jim and Roy; and sisters, Phyllis Danyl, Angelina de Luca, and Maria Aiello. Apart from his family, music was the most important part of Sams life. He was a veteran of the Second World War, where he served in the R.C.A.F. Band. He was a well-known musician in Winnipeg, and taught music until his retirement. His hobby was gardening, and he was especially proud of the tomatoes he grew in the backyard. He was an avid reader until he suffered a stroke. Sam had lived in Deer Lodge Centre for the past ten years, and the family would like to thank the staff of T5 for their kindness and patience. Funeral service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 14. Family and friends may pay their respects prior to the service. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. We will all miss you, Dad.
